Maija Ylä-Sahra's oil paintings and photography related to the city of Cortona


Maija Ylä-Sahra
is a painter from Espoo with a great passion for Italian culture. Her works has been shown in galleries through Finland, Brazil and Italy.

Her last exhibition was organized in september-october 2009 in Cortona, Italy, as part of the fifth edition of art collective Donnarte. The exhibition took place in the historical Fortress of the Girifalco.



As the art critic and curator of Centro d’Arte Minerva (Perugia) Luciano Lepri wrote about the artist: “ Thanks to her personal style, Maija Ylä-Sahra gives us very original works, characterized by strong lines and vivid colours. Dream, imagination and creativity make a symbolic bridge joining ancient and modern worlds able to create an ambience of authentic and deep poetry.”

Ylä-Sahra created two oil paintings for the upcoming Caffelatte: Two Cappucinos and Coffee Cups. Apart her paintings, some photos from her last visit in Cortona will be also shown in Espoonsilta.
